Okay folks, it’s that time of year…time for Summer Reading. Yay!!

The Shack (I’m almost through…it’s really good.)
Now in my opinion, summer reading should be light and fun. Lots of romance, a little intrigue, plenty of laughs. Nothing too heavy. A couple of my titles go against this policy, but what can I say, I’m making an exception.
If you’re looking for more ideas, please be sure to check my Reading List page. And be sure to tune in next week for children’s titles. In the meantime, if you don’t have one, get yourself a library card, and sign your kids up for the Summer Reading program at your local library.

I’ve decided I want to read all the Harlan Coben books. We’ll be taking a trip to the bookstore this weekend… Other than that, I’m not sure. I have Devil in the White City at home and it sounds pretty intriguing… My mom’s been dying for me to read Thorn Birds. Maybe I’ll read some trashy novels – get me some V.C. Andrews…
Well, before I get into the fun books, I have to finish the book I started a couple of weeks ago: The 7 Habits for Families. If you have never read any of Stephen Covey’s books, they are very good.

I WANT to read Exiles by Ron Hansen, Mockingbird: A Portrait of Harper Lee by Charles Shields (by the way, after you read the novel, you gotta see the Gregory Peck movie version!), and maybe Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri, but I just know that I’ll be lucky to find the time this summer. And that my list will elongate, shorten, and shape-shift in the days to come!
Oh this is DELICIOUS. This will give me a great excuse to actually sit down and READ this summer between working 2.5 jobs :[]

I have to read Jane Eyre for my book club before August. Then I want to read some of the books on the LOST book challenge probably starting with A Wrinkle in Time and Harry Potter. Kids books, I know, but I’ve never read them so I figured summer would be a perfect time.

I just read The Shack and it is awesome! I also really liked Friday Night Knitting Club. I’ll have to check into some of the others. I sometimes review books that I have read on my blog; you may like some of them.
